Start with the dry work

Remove personal items and vacuum loose dirt before deciding how much wet cleaning is needed. Check removable mats separately and follow their care instructions. Crumbs and dry debris do not automatically require an extractor. A spill that reached into fabric may need a different approach from ordinary surface dust, so identify the affected area before treating the whole cabin.

Understand what extraction changes

Extraction applies a suitable cleaning solution and removes moisture and loosened soil using dedicated equipment. Surface wiping works mainly where the cloth can reach. Neither description promises complete removal of every stain or odor. Material compatibility, previous treatments and the cause of the mark affect the plan. A headliner, seat electronics and carpet should not be treated as one interchangeable surface.

Leave time for drying

More liquid is not a shortcut to a cleaner interior. Use appropriate equipment settings and avoid saturating areas that cannot dry properly. Do not reinstall damp mats or cover damp fabric without following a suitable drying plan. If there is recurring dampness, find the source rather than repeatedly adding fragrance. Water intrusion, biological contamination or electrical concerns may require a specialist beyond routine detailing.

Ask for the right level of care

MDC’s Interior and Complete Detailing include carpet and fabric extraction; the routine Mobile Car Wash includes vacuuming and a light wipe-down. Describe spills, lingering dampness and previous cleaning when requesting service. That detail helps the team confirm the work and timing. The goal is a clean, usable cabin, not the wettest possible before-and-after demonstration.
