Mobile Detail Center (MDC, we, us or our) provides mobile car washing and detailing in Orange County, California. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our websites, request a quote, book a service, contact us, make a payment or sign up for our marketing messages.
Information we collect
Contact and inquiry information. Your name, email address, phone number and the messages you send through our forms, by email, by phone or through other channels you choose.
Booking and service information. Your service address, optional apartment/unit/suite, city and ZIP code; vehicle year, make, model, size or other details you provide; selected services and extras; preferred date and time; estimates; service history; and relevant notes about vehicle condition, parking or access. A requested time is subject to confirmation by our team. Please do not include payment-card details, government identification numbers or unrelated sensitive information in website messages.
Payment information. We use Square to process payments. Square collects the information needed for the payment, which may include payment-card and billing details. We receive transaction information needed to manage your purchase, such as the amount, payment status and receipt details. When you authorize it in the booking Payment step, Square saves your card for a single charge after the service is completed, at the final price agreed with you before work begins. Secure card fields send card numbers and security codes directly to Square. WordPress stores Square customer and card references, the card brand and last four digits, payment status, and your authorization record; it does not store the full card number or security code. Assigned detailers can receive the contact, vehicle, appointment and address details needed to perform their jobs. Microsoft 365 processes service and newsletter emails. GoTo Connect processes operational text messages when we use that connection.
Marketing preferences. If you subscribe, we collect your email address or mobile number, your consent and confirmation records, and your communication preferences. Our marketing systems may also record delivery, email opens, link clicks and opt-outs.
Website information. Website and technology providers may collect IP addresses, browser and device information, pages visited, referring pages, approximate location and cookie or similar identifiers. Our forms also use a short-lived identifier derived from the connection’s IP address to limit spam. A service address you provide is used to arrange your visit; our booking form does not request access to your device’s GPS location.
We obtain information directly from you, through your use of our websites and services, and from providers such as Square in connection with your payments or communications.
How we use information
We use information to answer questions, prepare estimates, confirm and provide services, manage payments and receipts, maintain service records, improve the website, prevent spam and misuse, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. With the appropriate permission, we also send MDC offers, car-care information and reminders to book another wash or detail. Service history and preferences may help us choose relevant offers or reminders.
Email and text messages
Service communications. We may contact you about an inquiry, quote, requested appointment, payment or service you have asked us to provide. Submitting a booking or contact form does not automatically subscribe you to promotional emails or texts.
Email marketing. When you opt in, we may send MDC offers and car-care tips through Microsoft 365 or Square, depending on the service you subscribed to. WordPress newsletter confirmation and subscription emails are sent through Microsoft 365. Rebooking promotions follow your separately recorded marketing preferences. New subscriptions submitted through our website newsletter form require email confirmation before activation. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or by contacting privacy@mobiledetailcenter.com. We honor email marketing opt-outs within ten business days. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent communications needed for a requested service or transaction.
Text marketing. If you separately opt in, we may send promotional texts through Square, including offers and reminders to book your next service. Messages may be sent using automated technology. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Marketing-text consent is not required to purchase a service. To stop texts, reply STOP to the sender or contact us using the details below. For assistance, use the help instructions in the message or contact us. We also honor other reasonable requests to stop messages. A rebooking promotion is a marketing message, even if you have previously used our services.
Email and text preferences are separate. We use consent and suppression records to record your choices and help prevent unwanted messages.
When information is disclosed
We do not sell or rent our customer contact lists or give them to unrelated businesses for their own marketing. We disclose information as needed to operate MDC, including:
- Square: payment processing, receipts, customer records and permitted email or text communications. Relevant information can include contact details, transaction and service information, and marketing consent or opt-out status.
- Website and communication providers: hosting, storage, backups, security and message delivery. Our websites use Squarespace and Hostinger; submissions on our WordPress site are stored in our website database.
- Website analytics and embedded tools: the providers described in the next section receive information when their tools operate on a page.
- People supporting your service: authorized personnel who need relevant information to arrange, perform or support your requested service.
- Legal or business circumstances: where needed to comply with law or legal process, address fraud, protect rights or safety, resolve a dispute, or evaluate or complete a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not provide mobile numbers or SMS consent records to other businesses for their own marketing. Square, message-delivery vendors and carriers may process that information as needed to deliver messages, maintain consent records and honor opt-outs.
Square also handles some information under its own privacy notices. See Square’s notice for customers making purchases and its notice for buyer features, receipts and marketing.
Cookies and website tools
Tools vary by page and website. Cookies and similar technologies can support website functions, measure visits and remember choices. Our website providers may also maintain technical and security logs.
Google Analytics, where enabled, helps measure visits and website use, including device information, pages and approximate location. Its tags can use cookies and other identifiers. Learn more in Google’s explanation of Analytics data practices. You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on where supported.
Address search. Our booking form uses Google Maps/Places to suggest and complete addresses. When you use address search, the text you type and technical connection information are sent to Google to return suggestions. We receive the address you select and the booking details you submit. The optional apartment, unit or suite field is collected separately by MDC. You can choose manual address entry instead. Google processes information under its Privacy Policy, which applies to the Google Maps features incorporated in our website. Use of those features is also subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service.
Spam protection. Our booking, contact and newsletter forms use Google reCAPTCHA. When you submit a form, Google evaluates technical information and interactions to help distinguish legitimate requests from automated abuse. reCAPTCHA uses a necessary cookie for risk analysis. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply. MDC receives a verification result used to accept or reject the request.
Article engagement. On our production WordPress website, our own measurement records article views, reading progress, estimated reading completion, recommendations shown or clicked, and actions such as booking, phone and contact clicks or form requests. Reading completion is an estimate based on visible reading time and article depth, not proof that every word was read. We store daily aggregate counts by article and source page, not form contents or a persistent reader profile. A salted, short-lived identifier derived from an IP address limits abusive event submissions; temporary event identifiers prevent duplicate counts. Our article-metrics table does not store raw IP addresses. Hosts and other providers may keep separate technical logs.
HubSpot tracking code on our existing website can collect page activity, timestamps, IP addresses and online identifiers. Processing depends on the configuration and consent settings. See HubSpot’s tracking-code disclosure.
Trustpilot provides a review widget on our existing website. Loading or interacting with third-party content can disclose connection, device and page information to its provider. See Trustpilot’s privacy policy.
Some third-party providers may associate information with other information they hold or receive across websites, according to their settings and policies. Our statement about customer contact lists does not mean that these website tools never receive information.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; some functions may be affected. On our WordPress website, MDC’s own article-engagement measurement and custom marketing-outcome event code do not send measurement events when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. This does not turn off essential form security or address search, and it does not describe every independently loaded provider tag or our existing Squarespace website. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are different signals. We honor applicable privacy opt-out requirements; you can also contact us using the details below about your choices.
How long we keep information
We determine retention based on why the information was collected: handling an inquiry, providing services, maintaining payment and tax records, resolving disputes, meeting legal requirements, and documenting or honoring marketing choices. Different categories may therefore be kept for different periods. We may retain limited consent and opt-out records after marketing stops so we can respect your choice. Backup copies may remain until replaced or deleted through the relevant backup process.
You can ask us to delete information. We may need to keep certain records for legal, security, accounting or dispute-related reasons and will explain applicable limits when responding. Expiration of a confirmation link does not by itself delete a subscription request.
Your privacy choices and requests
Contact privacy@mobiledetailcenter.com to request access to, correction of or deletion of information MDC holds about you, to change marketing preferences, or to ask about a disclosure. You may also call or write to us. Include enough information to locate the relevant record; do not send a copy of your identification unless we request an appropriate verification method. We may verify your identity or an authorized agent’s authority before releasing or deleting information.
Depending on applicable law, California residents may have additional rights to know, access, correct, delete or receive personal information; opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising; or limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. These rights depend on legal coverage and applicable exceptions. We respond under applicable law and do not penalize you for making a privacy request. You can also request information about disclosures for other businesses’ direct marketing purposes where California law provides that right.
Security and children
We use safeguards intended to protect information, including HTTPS for website transmission and restricted administrative access to website lead records. No system is completely secure. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary for your service.
Our website and services are intended for adults arranging vehicle care, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Other websites and policy changes
Links to social media, review sites and other third-party services take you to services with their own privacy practices. Review those policies before providing information.
We may update this policy as our practices change. We will post the revised policy with its effective date. For material changes, we will provide a prominent website notice or another notice appropriate to the change, and obtain additional consent where required.
