Separate glass cleaning from glass protection
A cleaner removes film and fingerprints. A water-repellent treatment is a different product with a different application process. Start with the cleaning job, using a product approved for your glass and any aftermarket tint. Check the tint installer’s care instructions if the film is new. Do not use a general-purpose household cleaner just because the bottle says it is good for windows.
Give each towel a job
Use one clean glass towel for the initial wipe and another clean, dry towel for the final pass. Too much product or a towel already loaded with interior dressing can leave more work behind. Follow the bottle’s directions and protect nearby trim and screens from overspray. Lower side windows slightly to reach their upper edges, then finish the rest of the pane. Pay attention to corners rather than repeatedly wiping only the center.
Find which side needs another pass
An organized pattern helps troubleshooting: use one direction on the inside and another on the outside. Inspect from a different angle after the surface dries. If a streak remains, you can tell which side to revisit. Persistent haze may require another clean towel rather than more pressure. Stoner’s Invisible Glass spray instructions specifically call for fully drying glass with a fresh towel after cleaning.
Keep the result useful
A clear windshield is a reason to maintain the whole system, including wiper blades according to the vehicle manual. Do not apply slippery products to controls or turn a cleaning session into a test drive before your view is clear. MDC’s wash and detailing work includes window and mirror cleaning. Optional window protection should be selected for a separate protection goal, not as a replacement for removing the existing film.
